Part one--describe a situation that would make you want to stand up for your right to free speech. (What would really get you fired up?
For ex. maybe there is something you would like to see changed here at school?)
Part two--A friend asks you to wear an arm band this Friday to show your support for all US troops around the world--would you do it?....yes or no and then tell us why.
Part three--comment on 2 other messages from your classmates......It's your right!!!!!!!!

Open campus because although a couple of people messed up, we shouldn't be punished for it.

ReplyDelete1. Not having to take a semester test if you have a certain grade in a class. Being able to not take tests would encourage those to work harder for a better grade throughout the semester.

PART ONE - I think that we should be able to have cell phones in the hallways, study halls, and lunch break. As long as we are not using are cell phone during class it shouldn't matter. And even though now you say that we aren't suppose to use cell phones most kids do.

PART THREE - I would agree with Kim that we should be able to have open campus. Give us a chance we weren't the ones that screwed up in the first place.
The ability to have access to websites that have been taken away. Individual students should be punished for not being able to obey the rules, not the whole student body.

ReplyDeleteI don't like the fact that open campus is limited and the fact that if we have an A in the class then we still have to take the semester test. If we have an A in the class then i think we have proved ourselves enough by getting good grades in the classes.

Uniforms would not be liked by 90% of the students. You are taking away individuality.

I would like our state government to allow schools to have normal pop and food in our lounge because as a right we should be able to eat or drink anything that we want.

Matt i totally agree with you because the limited websites sometimes makes it hard to do research, last year i had to do weaponry of world war two for a project and i had to figure out ways around the filters.
ReplyDeleteI think the semester test idea is good, but I think that it should be an A. And also you are going to have some complaints to that because some pple are trying there hardest and the highest grade they can get is a B or a C.

ReplyDeleteI agree Alisa if you have a certain grade in a class like a B or something higher than that you shouldn't have to take the test because no matter how you do on the test you'll pass the class anyways.
ReplyDeleteI agree Matt with the websites because some of us didn't abuse the websites like others did so it shouldn't be fair that since a few people abused the websites and everybody in the whole school looses it.
I agree with Matt because the people that did the wrong should be the one to be punished, not the whole school body....

I agree with alisa. I think that makes sense because you have already proven that you are smart enough to have an A throughout the whole semester so why should you have to take the test.

ReplyDeleteI would want to stand up for open campus because I don't think that it is right that we should be punished for something that other people screwed up that was approximately seven years ago. I would wear and arm band with my friend if I had also that same opinion on the reason to wear the arm band.

I agree with cody on the fact that we should be able to have the regular pop because I think that we are able to figure out what we want to eat and they shouldn't band that.

ReplyDeletePART 1 i would like to have open campus so students can eat at home or thay can eat food that the local restrants this would give students the ability to eat what thay want instead of having the school food provided

PART 3 I dont like zachs ideas of uniforms because it forces people into a collective and doesnt let anyone express individulism, i agree with kims idea of open campus because we shouldnt be punished for something that we havent done
PART ONE- I think we should be able to have pop or any kind of food in lounge. We're all in high school and we should be responsible for whether we're healthy or not. It shouldn't be a concern that we're getting overweight just from eating and drinking that in lounge, because I don't think that's really the issue.

I think this would anger many students if we had to wear uniforms.
Having regular pop in the student lounge instead of diet pop, some people are allergic to the ingredients in diet pop.

First- The situation is like when we have pop or soda in class. I mean we pay for it with our own money and then we're not able to drink them in class. We can have water but not a fruit drink. We've already have had the regular soda taken what more is there to do.

One thing I would stand up for is being able to use cell phones in school. I think that we should be able to use our cell phones between classes and I also think that we should be able to use cell phones during lunch hour. I think that we should also be able to have cell phones in the classroom as long as we dont use them when the teacher is talking or when we are doing homework.
